Turns Out, Newly Crowned NASCAR Truck Champion Ben Rhodes is a Fun Drunk

It was a night of celebration for Ben Rhodes, NASCAR’s newest NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion. After partaking in many libations on his path to his post-championship press conference, Rhodes was feeling — well, pretty damn good.

And while Rhodes has not been the driver who we’ve seen the most personality out of over the years on NASCAR television broadcasts, we got a really good peek behind the curtain of how Rhodes is, especially when he’s had a little liquid courage.

Turns out, he’s a really damn fun drunk.

Alan Cavanna took the liberty to slice up Rhodes’ press conference into a best-of highlight reel. And, let me tell you, it is truly something.

Rhodes can now put expert at making race car noises on his resume. He’s also professed his love for his crew chief and he even adopted the NASCAR Media Corps into his close circle of friends by the end of the press conference.

This is truly NASCAR video for the ages.

Here is the complete post-race press conference from Rhodes:

Rhodes, 24, won the opening two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races of the 2021 campaign, but heading into Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix Raceway, he was riding a 19-race winless drought and he was not the favorite among the Championship 4 contenders to take home the title.

That all changed as the Kentucky-native rose to the occasion and nudged fellow Playoff contender Zane Smith out of the way with nine laps left in the race. Rhodes pulled away and finished third, which was highest of the Championship 4 and more than enough to secure his first-career NASCAR Truck Series Championship.

It also more than likely secured Rhodes a massive headache on Saturday morning — or afternoon — or whenever he finally woke up.
