Brad Perez, a well-liked figure amongst fans on social media and people within the garage, will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for his second start of the year at Sonoma Raceway, driving for Emerling-Gase Motorsports.

Perez, who has three Xfinity Series starts to his credit over the last two seasons, will pilot the No. 53 Chevrolet Camaro for the two-car operation, with support from sponsors Apex Coffee Roasters and Bonesteel Aerospace.

A native of Hollywood, Florida, Perez will attempt to be one of the 38 drivers to qualify for the Door Dash 250 on June 11, the inaugural event for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the 1.99-mile road course.

“I’ve been wanting to go back to Sonoma so badly after last year with Josh Reaume’s team,” said Perez. “I’m so glad to have the opportunities to do better and gain more experience at a track I’ve been to.

The 26-year-old driver will have some unique experience on his side when racing at Sonoma, having competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at the track last season, finishing 22nd for Reaume Brothers Racing.

“Thanks to Joey Gase and Patrick Emerling, and especially APEX Coffee Roasters and Bonesteel Aerospace for continuously supporting my racing program,” Perez added. “Remember discount code ‘BREAD’ at checkout for a discount on all APEX Coffee Roaster blends.”

In his three prior starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, all of which have come on road courses, Perez has scored a pair of top-25 finishes, including a top-20 finish on his debut at Watkins Glen International last August.

“We are excited to have Brad [Perez] back in the driver’s seat again as the Xfinity Series heads to Sonoma,” said Emerling-Gase Motorsports co-owner, Joey Gase. “We’re proud of his growth as a driver and can’t wait to watch him continue to succeed.”
