Over the course of the last year, Stefan Parsons has experienced the most versatile stretch of his young career, driving for a multitude of teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, trying to gain valuable experience by running as many races as possible.
This weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Parsons will step into that role again, returning to the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving the No. 99 Toyota Supra for B.J. McLeod Motorsports.
Parsons, the 21-year old from Cornelius, North Carolina contested six NASCAR Xfinity Series events in 2019, driving for B.J. McLeod Motorsports and JD Motorsports, with a best finish of 12th at Daytona.
In six NASCAR Xfinity Series starts last season, Parsons earned three top-20 finishes, and six top-25 finishes, never finishing lower than 23rd position, a impressive accomplishment for a driver making their first starts in the series.
This season, Parsons has had limited track time in any of NASCAR’s National Series, only contesting one single start in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series at Las Vegas with CMI Motorsports. Parsons ran as high as 14th in that event, before a mechanical issue relegated him to a 29th place result.
In 2020, Parsons has had limited track time in any of NASCAR’s National Series, only running one single NASCAR Truck Series race at Las Vegas with CMI Motorsports’s No. 83. Parsons ran as high as 14th that night, before a mechanical issue caused a brief stay in the garage, relegating the No. 83 to a 29th place finish.
Entering the weekend at Homested-Miami Speedway, the No. 99 for B.J. McLeod Motorsports sits 25th in the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series Owner Standings, meaning Parsons will start Saturday’s race between 25th – 36th position, via random draw.
