Carson Kvapil to Pilot No. 97 CR7 Truck Entry at Richmond Raceway

Carson Kvapil to run the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway in the No. 97 CR7 Motorsports entry

With the NASCAR Xfinity Series off this weekend, Carson Kvapil, who has driven full-time for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, is set to make his second career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start at Richmond Raceway. Kvapil will get behind the wheel of the No. 97 CR7 Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado with primary sponsorship from Grant County Mulch.

CR7 Motorsports made the announcement with a post on social media, which also showed off the paint scheme that Kvapil will run in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Richmond.

Kvapil made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut driving the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at Bristol Motor Speedway in the Fall 2023 event. In that race, Kvapil started 27th and came home with a solid 12th-place result.

After picking up three top-five finishes and four top-10s in nine NASCAR Xfinity Series starts a season ago, Kvapil was elevated to full-time status as the driver of the No. 1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet for the 2025 campaign.

Through the opening 23 races of the 2025 season, Kvapil has registered five top-five finishes and 10 top-10s, and he ranks sixth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular-season championship standings. To date, his career-best finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series is second-place, which he has achieved twice this year at Bristol Motor Speedway and EchoPark Speedway, as well as once a season ago at Dover Motor Speedway.

Kvapil heads into this weekend’s slate of racing on the heels of back-to-back good runs in the NASCAR Xfinity Series as he finished ninth at Iowa Speedway two weeks ago, and fifth at Watkins Glen International this past weekend.

The 22-year-old son of former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil is making quite a name for himself in the racing world.

The driver, who has picked up championships in the CARS Tour Pro Late Model division and the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock division, will look to add a NASCAR Truck Series win to his resume this weekend as he serves as the teammate to Grant Enfinger at CR7 Motorsports.
