Guess What Day the Cup Series is Running this Week? Ty Dillon Running Special Hump Day GEICO Scheme at Darlington

When the NASCAR Cup Series goes green for their next race — the Toyota 500 at Darlington Raceway — on Wednesday, Ty Dillon will be sporting the perfect paint scheme.

Germain Racing revealed via press release on Tuesday, that the No. 13 machine will be wrapped in a special Hump Day scheme, featuring the beloved camel from GEICO’s hump day advertising campaign.


The Scheme features a royal blue base, with a lighter blue bottom half. On the hood, is the camel from the GEICO tv ads with a word bubble that says, “Hump Daayy!”

Dillon is excited to drive a car based on the impactful ad that debuted seven years ago.

“How cool is it to race the Hump Day car on Hump Day?” Dillon said in the team release. “This GEICO commercial has always been, and remains, one of my all-time favorites. I couldn’t be more excited to see this car on-track at Darlington. When the idea of Wednesday races started to be a reality, this car design really picked up steam within our organization. Everyone at Germain Racing and GEICO deserves credit for creating a car that not only looks really cool, but makes the best out of the situation that our sport is in.”

By way of finishing 19th in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Race at Darlington, Dillon will roll from the grid in the second starting spot, as NASCAR inverted the top-20 finishers for the next race.

“I’m looking forward to getting to Darlington on Wednesday and I know the Hump Day car will look great starting on the front row,” Dillon stated.
