Persistent Rain Forces NASCAR to Postpone Xfinity Series Race at Darlington Until Thursday at 12 PM ET

Rain, rain go away. Persistent rains stemming from tropical storm Arthur, have forced NASCAR’s hand and the sanctioning body, after attempting numerous times to dry the 1.366-mile Darlington Raceway, has opted to postpone the Toyota 200 to Thursday at 12 PM ET.

When the race does go green, JR Motorsports teammates Noah Gragson and Michael Annett will lead the field to the green flag.

The race will still be broadcast on FS1 on Thursday.

Wednesday’s NASCAR Cup Series Toyota 500 at Darlington has seen a change in its start time as well. NASCAR announced that they will move the start time up to 6 PM ET on FS1 in an effort to get around the rough weather in South Carolina due to the tropical storm.

If the NASCAR Cup Series race is rained out on Wednesday, NASCAR’s current plan is to run it on Thursday after the Xfinity Series race. The Cup race would start at 7 PM ET under that scenario.
