Chad Chastain, the younger brother of NASCAR Cup Series winner Ross Chastain, is set to attempt to qualify for his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend, driving for Florida-based DGM Racing.

The 24-year-old will pilot the organization’s No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro in Saturday’s RAPTOR King of Tough 250 at Atlanta, with sponsorship from the “Protect Your Melon” campaign, put on by the Governors Highway Safety Association.

“We’re excited to work with Chad (Chastain),” said DGM Racing team owner, Mario Gosselin. “He has done a nice job in the select NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races he has run, and we’re excited to give him the opportunity to continue his growth in NASCAR. The program that both Ross (Chastain) and Chad have put together promoting seat belt safety is fantastic and we’re happy to collaborate with them to bring awareness to this important topic.”

Chastain, a native of Alva, Florida, has competed in four NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events over the last two seasons with Niece Motorsports, where he scored three finishes of 30th in 2022.

“I’m thrilled to make my NASCAR Xfinity Series debut with DGM Racing, a Florida-based race team, driving a “Protect Your Melon” Chevrolet just like I watched my brother (Ross) do for years,” said Chad Chastain. “I have a great platform to raise awareness for safe driving, whether on the track or on the roads in the local community, and being able to tie that back to our family business is an honor.”

Chad’s brother, Ross, has also competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for DGM Racing over the last couple of seasons, most recently competing in the Production Alliance Group 300 at Auto Club Speedway.

Chad Chastain joins a driver lineup for the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro that has included Josh Bilicki, Ross Chastain, and Garrett Smithley. With more than 38 entries expected for Saturday’s event, Chastain will have to qualify for the event on time.
