Justin Allgaier made a huge statement this weekend at Richmond Raceway, sweeping both legs of the 0.75-mile track’s doubleheader weekend for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, asserting himself as a potential threat for the series’ championship this season.

The 34-year-old was able to hold off teammate Jeb Burton – who earned a career-best second-place finish —  in the race’s closing laps, mastering the final restart to claim his 14th victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and his 11th victory at JR Motorsports.

Kaulig Racing’s Ross Chastain finished in third-place, with Harrison Burton and Noah Gragson rounding out the top-five finishers in Saturday Afternoon’s Virginia is for Racing Lovers 250.

Austin Cindric – who brought his No. 22 PPG Ford Mustang home in the 10th position — extended his point lead to 71 markers over Chase Briscoe — who finished a disappointing 16th — clinching the regular season championship for the Team Penske driver.

The race featured five caution flags for a total of 29 laps, including a late-race caution involving Brandon Brown and Riley Herbst, which triggered the final restart of the event with 12 laps to go.
