Joey Logano Wins Stage 2 as Cole Custer Opts to Pit Near End of Stage

Cole Custer, who won Stage 1, dominated Stage 2 of the Camping World 300 at Chicagoland Speedway, but with 13 laps remaining, Ryan Sieg turned his No. 39 car around which brought out the yellow. Custer led the field down to pit road, but 10 cars — led by Joey Logano — stayed on the race track which mired Custer back in 11th.

Logano and Christopher Bell would battle for the lead when the green flag came back out with six laps left in the Stage, while Custer tried to cut his way through the field like warm knife through butter.

Custer raced his heart out but his rally to win the Stage stalled out once he reached the top-five.

Logano, who is making his first NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the season, would hold off Bell for the Stage win.

Custer would rebound to finish third, Brandon Jones was fourth and Tyler Reddick would end the Stage in fifth.

Other drivers who scored Stage points were: Zane Smith, Austin Cindric, Justin Haley, Justin Allgaier and Ross Chastain.
