On Wednesday afternoon, Lionel Racing sent out an email to its customers informing them of an exclusive chance to purchase a die-cast that would be “one of the rarest releases ever built.” The company was offering a 1:24 scale Chase Briscoe Patriotic Free Bird Elite Premier die-cast, which would only have 50 die-casts produced.
The decision to make just 50 of these die-casts was a tie-in with the patriotic theme of the car, which matches the number of states in the United States of America.
In roughly an hour, all 50 cars had been sold out at the $155.00 pricepoint on Lionel Racing’s website.
Instantly, Lionel Racing’s decision to release this limited-edition diecast has created a new grail-chase piece for Chase Briscoe fans who missed out on the initial offer.
Typically, Lionel Racing offers die-cast models as pre-orders with the caveat that there must be a minimum order quantity (MOQ) reached in order for the die-cast to be produced. While Lionel Racing hasn’t officially revealed the MOQ threshold for 1:24 scale die-casts, 1:64 scale die-cast MOQs were set at 2,500 units prior to June 2025. Now, the MOQ for 1:64 scale die-casts sits at 1,500 units.
Obviously, the 50-unit Chase Briscoe Patriotic Free Bird Toyota Camry Elite Premier die-cast is far more rare than just about any die-cast that Lionel Racing has ever offered.
Now, for anyone still looking to obtain one of the extremely limited 50 die-casts, let the bidding begin. There will likely be bidding wars on eBay and elsewhere amongst diecast collectors for this offering from Lionel Racing.
