Video: Retzlaff Kicks Sideways, Collects Sam Mayer on Lap 8 at Las Vegas

The day went sideways, literally, for Parker Retzlaff on Lap 8 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series The LiUNA! at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Retzlaff lost control of his No. 31 Jordan Anderson Racing Chevrolet Camaro in Turns 3 and 4, and kicked sideways.

As Retzlaff was attempting to wrangle his car, Sam Mayer, who made it into the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 last season, collided with the left rear of Retzlaff’s car.

The contact caused severe damage to both cars, and Mayer would pull his No. 1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro to the garage area, and he would retire for the day after completing just seven laps.

Retzlaff was able to remain on the track after repairs, and he will attempt to work his way toward a third-consecutive top-five finish, despite the damage to his race car.
