Nick Sanchez was able to claim the pole position for Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Driving the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, Sanchez turned a lap time of 32.756 seconds (164.855 mph) to top the field in the qualifying session.

This pole-winning run marks the eighth of the Miami, Florida native’s NASCAR Truck Series career, and it comes in career start No. 51.

Now, Sanchez hopes he can go on to secure his third career victory.

“Yeah, it’s huge for tonight, obviously,” Sanchez said of the pole position. “We want to win the race.”

Sanchez continued, “I’ve sat on the pole here before. I mean, I’ve led laps. I just want to go win. That’s the goal.”

Chandler Smith, who won last weekend’s NASCAR Truck Series event at Martinsville Speedway, will start on the outside of the front row.

Corey Heim, the defending Truck Series champion slotted in third-fastest in the qualifying session, just ahead of the two 2026 championship contenders, Layne Riggs and Kaden Honeycutt, who will start fourth and fifth.
