NASCAR Suspends Season for Eight Weeks; Aiming for Martinsville Return

In a statement made Monday Night, NASCAR announced that they would be putting the 2020 season on hold through May 3rd, in accordance with the recent CDC guidance, recommending all large gatherings scheduled to take place over the next eight weeks be postponed and/or cancelled. NASCAR indicated that racing is curently scheduled to return at Martinsville Speedway. (May 8th & 9th)

NASCAR’s Statement:

In the statement NASCAR also mentioned that they are planing to run all 36 races scheduled this season, with the rescheduling of postponed events to be worked out soon, as they continue to monitor the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak with the assistance public health officials and medical experts.
