On Wednesday, NASCAR, FOX Sports, and NBC Sports jointy announced the start times and broadcast networks for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedules.
The main talking point for the sanctioning body, continues to be another year-over-year increase in NASCAR Cup Series events being broadcasted on FOX or NBC broadcast networks, increasing from 20, to 21 in 2023.
FOX will carry 11 of the 21 broadcast network events, beginning with the second-annual Busch Light Clash at the LA Memorial Coliseum on February 5. The first six points-paying events of the season (Daytona 500, Auto Club, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta, and COTA) will also be shown on FOX.
From there, the NASCAR Cup Series makes four more appearances on FOX in 2023, at the Bristol Dirt Race (April 9), Talladega (April 23), the Coca-Cola 600 (May 28), and Sonoma (June 11).
The highly-anticipated return to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the 2023 NASCAR All-Star Race will take place on Sunday, May 21st, at 8:00pm ET, and will be broadcasted on FS1.
The ten remaining events on network stations will be shown on NBC, beginning with events at Nashville Superspeedway (June 25), and the inaugural Chicago Street Race (July 2). Indy’s Road Course (August 13) and Daytona (August 26) are the only other regular-season events to be shown on NBC.
However, the final six events of the NASCAR Cup Series season, in the midst of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, will be shown on NBC, which includes events at Talladega, Charlotte Roval, Las Vegas, Homestead, Martinsville, and Phoenix.

“Over the last few years, we’ve worked closely with our broadcast partners, tracks, teams, drivers, and industry stakeholders to deliver some of the most bold and innovative schedules in NASCAR’s history – 2023 is no exception,” said Brian Herbst, NASCAR senior vice president of media and productions. “We will always look for opportunities to expand the distribution of our world-class racing product to NASCAR’s loyal fanbase – by adding more broadcast and primetime races in 2023, our media partners are continuing their commitment to reach as many viewers as possible through their network platforms. This commitment was on full display in 2022, with a 4% year-over-year viewership increase for the NASCAR Cup Series and we look forward to continuing the momentum in 2023.”
Overall, 29 NASCAR National Series events – 10 NASCAR Cup Series, 6 NASCAR Xfinity Series, and 13 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series – will air in primetime next season, including each of the series’ season-finales.
