Inspection Complete: Ryan Blaney Officially Declared NASCAR Cup Series Champion

Ryan Blaney scored a solid runner-up finish in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway, and with that runner-up finish he secured his first NASCAR Cup Series title.

Following the race, Blaney’s No. 12 Team Penske Ford Mustang was put through the NASCAR post-race inspection process and engine teardown procedure, and it passed with no issues. As a result, NASCAR declared Blaney the official 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion.

Ross Chastain, who scored the overall race win, also passed inspection and has been named the official winner of the race.

Kyle Larson officially finished third, and William Byron officially finished fourth, which secured them the second and third-place spot in the overall NASCAR Cup Series Championship Standings.

Chris Buescher finished fifth, and he was followed by Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Michael McDowell, and Bubba Wallace inside the top 10.

Christopher Bell finished last in the race after a brake failure on Lap 109, and as a result, finished fourth in the NASCAR Cup Series season-ending point standings.
