Logan Seavey has this winning the Chili Bowl Nationals thing figured out. The defending champion of the prestigious indoor dirt midget event started from the outside pole, dominated, and cruised to his second-consecutive win.

Buddy Kofoid, who was attempting to avenge a frustrating 2023 Chili Bowl attempt, started the race from the pole, but was no match for Seavey as he came home in the runner-up spot.

Kofoid was no match for Seavey and not even illness could stop him from pulling off the repeat.

Corey Day, Daison Pursley, and Hank Davis rounded out the top-five finishers while Shane Golobic, Tanner Carrick, Spencer Bayston, Michael Faccinto, and Jake Swanson capped off the top-10 finishers in the race.

Chase Briscoe was the lone NASCAR star who made it into the big show, and he struggled mightily from the 19th starting spot as he finished 21st, several laps off the pace of Seavey.

While it wasn’t a solid performance in the A-Main, just making the A-Main in an event where more than 300 drivers battle it out for one of the 24 starting spots is a big deal.

How did the other NASCAR drivers fare on Saturday?

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. came the closest of any other NASCAR driver to making the A-Main as he scored the win in the E1-Main and rallied from the 16th starting spot in the D1-Main to advance to the C1-Main. Unfortunately, Stenhouse’s run through the soup ended with an 18th-place finish in the C1-Main.

Jesse Love, who wrecked spectacularly on Thursday, started 12th in the E2-Main, but was eliminated from the 2024 Chili Bowl Nationals field with a 14th-place finish in that race.

JJ Yeley started from the fifth position in the G2-Main and he would go on to score the win in that race to move his way into the F2-Main. Unfortunately, Yeley was non-factor due to mechanical issues in the F2, and his run through the soup ended with a 19th-place finish.

Josh Bilicki, who walked away from a scary tumble on Friday, finished third in the O1-Main early in the morning and advanced to the N1-Main. Bilicki finished seventh in the N1, and in doing so, failed to advance to the M-Main.
