I don’t know how he did it, but Trevor Bayne found a way to save his car when it kicked sideways while battling for second on Lap 4 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 302 at Las Vegas. Screengrab from NBC race broadcast.

Trevor Bayne is a talented race car driver, that is not up for debate. And if it was up for debate, the debate was settled in the early laps of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Bayne, who was battling Noah Gragson for the second position on lap 4 had one hell of a moment when his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota snapped loose in the middle of the turn.

But, somehow, Bayne was able to grab enough control of his car to make the save. You have to see this to believe it:

While Bayne dropped like a rock from second to 11th with his car sliding sideways, Bayne needs to be applauded for the No. 18 car not being sent to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s race car graveyard.

Incredible, incredible save.
