Despite his chances at capturing the NASCAR Cup Series title being over for 2022, Tyler Reddick is continuing to send a clear message to the field, that he’ll be a force to be reckoned with over the season’s final four races.

The Corning, California native, who this morning was confirmed to be bought out of his contract with Richard Childress Racing at season’s end by 23XI Racing, put all distractions aside to capture his third pole of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season at Las Vegas.

Putting down the quickest time in the final round of Saturday’s qualifying session from Las Vegas, Reddick’s 29.252-second (184.603mph) lap around the 1.5-mile facility was quick enough to secure him the pole position for Sunday’s South Point 400.

Reddick’s time, just two-thousandths of a second off of the quickest overall time set by Austin Cindric gave him an advantage of half a tenth of a second over Rookie of The Year winner Cindric, who will start on the front row for Sunday’s race.

William Byron, who picked off another start inside the top three, will start the highest of the eight remaining contenders for the NASCAR Cup Series championship in third, while Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano completed the top five.

Daniel Suarez, Christopher Bell, Harrison Burton, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Dillon completed the top-10, as the slowest five drivers that advanced to the second and final round of qualifying.

Ross Chastain, who remains in contention for the NASCAR Cup Series title, will start 11th, while Kyle Larson – still in the hunt for the Owner’s Championship – will start in 14th. Chase Briscoe (16th), Chase Elliott (20th), and Denny Hamlin (31st) were the championship-eligible drivers to qualify outside the top-15.
