Zane Smith will have some news that will make his fans quite happy next week, according to a post on social media by the driver on Friday.

The driver should be announcing his new 2020 plans, now that it has been revealed that he will not return to JR Motorsports’ No. 8 program next season.

The big rumor swirling around Smith for months is that he will move to Richard Childress Racing’s Xfinity Series program full-time in 2020. The team has also been rumored to be running more than one full-time team next season in the Xfinity Series, which would still leave a seat open for Daniel Suarez — as has been rumored since he was let go from Stewart-Haas Racing.

Smith, 20, has done an incredible job in his first season driving in the NXS.

In 10 starts this year, Smith has racked up two top-five finishes and seven top-10’s. Overall, Smith’s average finish on the year has been an awesome 10.3 and he has just one DNF.

He certainly deserves a full-time opportunity for a capable race team.
