Video: Shane Van Gisbergen Gets Hooked in Tri-Oval; Collects Eight Cars

Shane Van Gisbergen is going to head to Charlotte’s ROVAL in a difficult position, after getting taken out late in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Talladega Superspeedway.

Van Gisbergen was running in the middle of the lead pack when a bump from Dean Thompson sent him sideways and to the apron, which caused a chain reaction on the inside lane.

Jordan Anderson then pushed Dean Thomspon sideways, with the No. 26 Thompson Pipe Group Toyota GR Supra spinning down to the inside of the race and hooking SVG in the right rear.

That created an eight-car wreck that collected several others with some vicious hits, including Josh Williams, Taylor Gray, Jordan Anderson, Dean Thompson, Austin Hill, and David Starr, as well as Joey Gase.

Gray, Anderson, Wiliams, and Van Gisbergen were all forced to retire from the event.
