Video: Josh Williams Involved in Multi-Car Crash on Lap 5 at Phoenix

It has been an absolutely rough start to the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season for Kaulig Racing’s Josh Williams. The tough luck continued on Lap 5 of Saturday’s Call811.com Every Dig. Every Time. 200 at Phoenix Raceway.

Williams, driving the No. 11 Call811.com Chevrolet Camaro was caught in the middle of a three-wide battle with Jeremy Clements and Sheldon Creed. As the trio reached Turns 1 and 2, Clements washed up and made contact with Williams, which sent Williams colliding slightly with Creed.

Williams would lose control and would nose his Chevrolet Camaro into the inside wall.

Patrick Emerling would collide with Dawson Cram in an effort to avoid the crash, and Emerling suffered severe front end damage, which would end his race.

Williams, who was involved in crashes at Daytona and Atlanta to start the season and finished 14th a week ago at Las Vegas, entered the race 31st in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings. After the crash, Williams sits two laps down.

If he can’t recover, it’ll make qualifying into the next event at Circuit the Americas a very sketchy situation for the driver who came into the 2024 season with so much hope and optimism.
