FunkAway, a longtime partner of Parker Retzlaff, will join the 21-year-old driver at Beard Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway later this month. FunkAway will serve as the primary sponsor of the entry for the young driver and Beard family-owned team.

For those unfamiliar with FunkAway, the company was founded by Dan Zybinski and Kyle Bolke who have a deep love for coaching and playing sports but always hated the nasty smells that came from the sweat and grime. They sought to put an end to the “funk” with their odor eliminator. The company has enjoyed the platform that their NASCAR Xfinity Series partnership with Retzlaff and Jordan Anderson Racing has provided them, and they are pumped to take it to the next level — the NASCAR Cup Series.

“Our NASCAR partnership has been a great experience and a natural fit for us at FunkAway,” Bolke said. “We’ve had a wonderful collaboration with Parker, and coming together with him and Beard Motorsports again at Daytona in the NASCAR Cup Series is a no-brainer. Daytona is one of the most prestigious events in the world of motorsports and having FunkAway be a part of it will help fans that need our products. We are very excited for the races ahead and helping everyone smell great.”

Retzlaff, who has three top-five finishes and 12 top-10s in 62 career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, is extremely proud of his partnership with FunkAway and to be piloting the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet.

“FunkAway has been a great partner for me the last couple years,” Retzlaff said. “They’re a great team of people and I’m really proud of that relationship. It’s an honor to have them support me and be there for this race. Superspeedway racing is something I really enjoy, and I can’t wait to get to Daytona with Beard Motorsports and FunkAway.”

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway was originally scheduled to be Retzlaff’s NASCAR Cup Series debut, but NASCAR required the young racer to run a non-superspeedway NASCAR Cup Series event in order to be approved to compete at Daytona. As a result, Retzlaff will compete in this weekend’s race at the 0.750-mile Richmond Raceway with MBM Motorsports in preparation for Daytona on August 24.
