William Byron is set to debut a brand new Axalta Coating Systems Camaro ZL1 1LE this weekend in Daytona for the season opener.
Later this season, he will debut another new Axalta Camaro with another fresh color palette.
Byron will bring ‘Electrolight’, Axalta’s Global Automotive Color Of The Year, to the doubleheader at Pocono on June 26 and 27. The scheme will also promote Cromax XP, the company’s brand new solventbrone basecoat of paint. The color palette features a green-yellow hue that has been formulated with “mobility-sensing technology.”

It was revealed earlier this month that Axalta would place a brand new showcar at the Daytona International Speedway at their own Injector for fans to enjoy for the 2021 race season, featuring their Color Of The Year.
“We are very proud to have Cromax XP and ElectroLight on the showcar outside the Axalta Injector at Daytona International Speedway,” said Patricia Morschel, Vice President, Marketing and Commercial Operations of Axalta Global Refinish. “The outstanding quality and performance of Cromax XP makes it the perfect basecoat for this distinctive paint scheme, and we look forward to DIS visitors enjoying the finish and design as much as we do.”
In the past, Axalta has brought their Color of The Year on track for multiple occasions. In 2014, Jeff Gordon piloted a special “Radiant Red” color of his base design that was put together by the late Sam Bass. Additionally, Byron piloted a Sea Glass color design last season, which he took to Victory Lane in his Duel race.
Axalta will serve as the anchor sponsor for Byron in 2021, scheduled to take 14 races starting with this weekend’s Daytona 500. Fans can see the Axalta Camaro ZL1 1LE starting at 2:30PM EST on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
