Video: Chandler Smith Gets Around Sheldon Creed, John Hunter Nemechek for Clutch Victory at Bristol

Chandler Smith Sheldon Creed

Chandler Smith and Sheldon Creed will probably not be exchanging holiday gifts.

In the closing laps of Thursday Night’s UNOH 200 Presented by Ohio Logistics, Chandler Smith found himself with his back against the wall. With under 10 laps to go, the Kyle Busch Motorsports driver was substantially below the Playoff cutline. And he needed to get to victory lane in order to move himself through to the Round of 8.

Smith was able to do just that as he got an awesome restart with five laps to go. Smith eventually moved race-dominator Sheldon Creed up the track to put himself in position to collect the lead from teammate John Hunter Nemechek.

The 19-year-old went on to visit victory lane, with teammate John Hunter Nemechek finishing in third-place. Unfortunately, for Sheldon Creed, he received a flat tire from the late-race contact. That contact caused his No. 2 Chevrolet to spin around, resulting in a frustrating 19th-place finish.

Here is video of the finish:

What a finish between Chandler Smith and Sheldon Creed.

With the shakeup at the cutline, Smith was able to advance to the Round of 8. Meanwhile Todd Gilliland and Austin Hill were eliminated from the Playoffs.
