Truex Dominates Stage 2, But Hamlin Takes the Stage Win

Martin Truex Jr. utterly dominated Stage 2, but toward the end of the Stage, the driver of the No. 19 Toyota Camry opted to hit pit road to better set himself up for a win in the final Stage of the race.

Truex would still score Stage points as he finished seventh.

After leading 13 laps, the lead was handed over to Denny Hamlin who paced the final two laps of the Stage to take the Stage win. Hamlin will add one more Playoff point to his total this season.

A surprise inside the top-10 for Stage 2 was Bubba Wallace who worked his way to 10th at the conclusion of the Stage to score a Stage point.

Here were the top-10 drivers who scored Stage points in Stage 2:

  1. Denny Hamlin – 10 points plus 1 Playoff point
  2. Brad Keselowski – 9 points
  3. William Byron – 8 points
  4. Joey Logano – 7 points
  5. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – 6 points
  6. Kyle Larson – 5 points
  7. Martin Truex Jr. – 4 points
  8. Chase Elliott – 3 points
  9. Kyle Busch – 2 points
  10. Bubba Wallace – 1 point
