After failing to qualify for Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Richmond Raceway, Mason Maggio will still get the opportunity to compete, getting behind the wheel of the No. 43 Toyota Tundra.

As confirmed to TobyChristie.com by Reaume Brothers Racing, Maggio replaces team owner Josh Reaume, who was originally scheduled to drive the Motorsports Safety Group-sponsored entry in the Worldwide Express 250.

The organization says that Reaume sustained an injury to his back on the pull-down rig this week at the shop, and by Maggio not qualifying for the event, it allows the team to fill the seat while allowing Reaume to rest his back.

Maggio attempted to qualify for Saturday’s 250-lap contest in the Peck Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, but only posted a time that was good enough for 41st of 42 drivers. With no owner points, the No. 96 was sent packing.

The Palm Beach Garden, Florida-native made his first appearance in the NASCAR Truck Series at World Wide Technology Raceway in June, notching a 27th-place finish in the No. 33 for Reaume Brothers Racing.
