Grant Enfinger enters Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Indianapolis Raceway Park looking for a victory and a guaranteed spot in the postseason. After practice on Friday afternoon, the CR7 Motorsports driver appears to be in a decent spot.

Enfinger, driving the No. 9 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet Silverado RST, was quickest in a makeshift 50-minute practice session from Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP), beating out strong contenders Corey Heim and Kaden Honeycutt.

The Fairhope, Alabama-native posted a lap time of 23.303 seconds (105.978mph) in the opening moments of the practice and remained steadfast at the top of the board throughout the entire session.

Enfinger, a long-time NASCAR Truck Series veteran, is a former race-winner at Indianapolis Raceway Park, capturing a win in the series’ return to the 0.686-mile short track in 2022, while driving for GMS Racing.

“This place changes quick,” Enfinger told FS1. “We went out early, and I think the track was a little bit cooler at that point, so overall I think we have a good Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet. I think we have a contender, I don’t know if we have the best truck out there, but I think we’re a little bit better than we were last year – rolling the center a little bit.”

Corey Heim, a five-time winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, was second-quickest in the practice, and will roll from the pole on Friday’s 200-lap contest from IRP. Kaden Honeycutt was third in the session with TRICON Garage teammates Tanner Gray and Gio Ruggiero in fourth and fifth.

Ty Majeski, the winner of the last two NASCAR Truck Series events at IRP, was sixth quickest with Brent Crews, Andres Perez de Lara, Layne Riggs, and Luke Fenhaus rounding out the top-10 in the session.

Ross Chastain, a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series running his fourth of five scheduled events in the No. 44 for Niece Motorsports, was 13th in the session. Brenden Queen, the points leader in the ARCA Menards Series, was 17th fastest.

There were no incidents during the session, just one stoppage for debris on the racetrack.

The T-Sport 200 will take place on Friday, July 25, at 8:00 pm ET on FS1, NASCAR Radio Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
