Video: Riley Herbst’s Day Ends After Crashing In Tunnel Turn

(PC : NASCAR on NBC)

On the outside looking in of the Xfinity Series playoffs, the hole for Riley Herbst to climb out of got deeper after crashing in the tunnel turn at Pocono.

With the available replays, it appears that Herbst may have gotten tapped by the No. 15 of Colby Howard entering Turn 2 on Lap 47.

The No. 98 Ford backed into the turn 2 wall with tremendous force, while the rest of the field behind him escaped without harm.

Herbst climbed out of the car under his own power, ending his day at Pocono, and recording his fourth DNF of the season.

The Las Vegas driver was seeded 13th in points following a top 10 finish in Nashville.

Entering Pocono, Herbst was scored two points behind Brandon Brown in 12th, and 42 points ahead of Ryan Sieg in 14th.
