Landon Cassill Finishes Top-15 in Morgan Shepherd’s No. 89 Car at Homestead

The weekend started off with awesome news for Landon Cassill and Morgan Shepherd’s No. 89 NASCAR Xfinity Series team as they had secured sponsorship from VisoneRV.com, as well as Dale and Sandra Dietrich and a slew of other partners to run the full race distance for the first time in 2019.

Cassill then went on to do his job in qualifying 13th and finishing 15th in a hard-fought Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

With an incredible effort from Cassill and the team, the No. 89 Shepherd Racing Ventures team captured their best finish in over 10 years.

“Well that’s the first race we got to run all year,” Shepherd said to Frontstretch.com. “15th ain’t to bad for the first time out. Landon did a good job. The guys did a good job. Ready to go to work over the winter.”

The last time Shepherd’s No. 89 finished inside the top-15 was when Shepherd himself drove the car to a 13th-place finish at Las Vegas in the Spring of 2009.

In addition to this incredible start and finish at Homestead, Cassill also notched three other top-15 qualifying efforts for the organization this year.

“We’re hoping we’re going to get a sponsorship out of this,” said Shepherd.

It was an incredible showing by the team all year, but especially on Saturday at Homestead. If funding can be found for 2020, perhaps Cassill and Shepherd can continue this incredible story.
