In an electrifying final few laps of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it was Riley Herbst who emerged victorious over his Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Cole Custer and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Aric Almirola.

The three drivers waged an unforgettable battle, where all three drivers held the lead for one of the final three laps of the race, apiece.

Following his race win, Herbst’s race-winning No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang Dark Horse took a trip through the post-race inspection bay, where the car was given a passing grade by NASCAR Xfinity Series officials.

As a result, Herbst and his team were officially declared the winners of Saturday’s race.

This win is Herbst’s second-career NASCAR Xfinity Series win, and it is the second-consecutive win for the Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series team as Custer won last weekend’s event at Pocono Raceway.

Austin Hill’s No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro had one unsecured lug nut, which will result in a monetary fine for crew chief Andy Street.

No other issues were discovered in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Saturday’s race are now considered official.

Custer, like Herbst, rallied around Almirola on the final lap to score a runner-up finish. Almirola was third, Rookie of the Year contender Shane van Gisbergen impressed with a fourth-place finish and Sheldon Creed rounded out the top-five finishers on the day.
