Brennan Poole is set to announce his 2024 driving plans at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Thursday afternoon, and Poole confirmed to TobyChristie.com that he will be moving to Alpha Prime Racing, where he will drive the No. 44 entry full-time next season.
“Yeah, full-time at Alpha Prime Racing,” Poole stated in an exclusive interview with TobyChristie.com. “[Driving the No.] 44 super excited about it.”
Finance Pro Plus will serve as a 20-race primary sponsorship partner for Poole, while Macc Door Systems will serve as the primary sponsor in 10 races.
“We decided next year that we wanted to go all in with Brennan, and that we really enjoyed the experience, and being around NASCAR,” Josh Felts CEO of Finance Pro Plus said. “And then also Brennan has become like a best friend to us as well. So I’m excited to see what this does for him next year.”
Both sponsors, which are longtime partners of Poole, will serve as associate sponsors for the races that they are not the primary sponsorship partner.
Poole, who last drove a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule back in 2017, will be paired with teammate Ryan Ellis, who is also set to run the full schedule for Alpha Prime in 2024.
“I’m grateful to Tommy [Joe Martins], for giving me another opportunity,” Poole said. And to have another shot to race full-time again I think it’s huge for me in my career at this point. I’m still scrapping to get back in there.”
While Poole is grateful, Martins and the Alpha Prime Racing team are excited to have a driver that they hold in high regard behind the wheel of their race cars in 2024.
“We are very excited. I feel like we got one of the best guys in the series,” Martins told TobyChristie.com.
“Obviously, I’ve known Brennan now for a while. We were competing against him a whole lot this year in the part of the field we’re in and it was really more of an annoyance for me because I was like, good, grief man. We keep having to race Brennan every week. An we’d show up and we’d be around him all the time. So I was really watching him drive a lot more closely and just always felt like he was maximizing their day. He did a really good job of that. So a lot of that [credit] goes to him. He stepped into a situation there at JD [Motorsports] that was at times a little unstable and I felt like he, he brought a lot of the stability to the program for them this year and obviously [I] have a lot of respect for them down there and I earned a lot more respect for Brennan.
“I’ve been watching him even when he was driving a G2G truck or qualifying Harmon’s stuff the last few years is he’s been trying to rebuild his career and, and now I feel like we’re a team that’s ready to make a step forward in competitiveness and I feel like Brennan helps us do that.”
For Poole, the trajectory that he has seen Alpha Prime Racing take over the last couple of years, really helped him make his decision.
“I mean, I just feel like Tommy [Joe Martins] and the team have been working really hard to continue to grow the program and continue to move in the right direction,” Poole explained. “When he started talking to me about coming there to drive, obviously, I was excited about the opportunity, but then the more time that I started talking with Tommy the more I started to believe we could do some really good things together next year. They’ve already had some pretty spectacular runs over the last several years. But I think together with some consistency, I feel like we can really put together a strong season. I think he’s got a lot of good things going on over there.”
Poole ranked 24th in the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings in 2023, driving a part-time schedule for JD Motorsports. In 124 career starts in the series, Poole has a career-best finish of second, which he achieved at Kentucky Speedway during the 2017 season.
