Brandon Brown has performed admirably in his rookie NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign. With no sponsorship on a car that is owned by his family, Brown, 25, has recorded finishes of 18th or better in all five races so far in 2019, three of the finishes have been top-15s.
However, the sponsorship battle is too tough to continue on without help. As a result, Brown — Currently 14th in the championship standings — will step out of the No. 86 car in Richmond in May, and Mason Diaz will step in.
Diaz is bringing Extreme Custom Collision and Solid Rock Carriers on board the Chevrolet Camaro SS. It will mark Diaz’s second career start in the NXS.
Diaz, 18, completed all 250 laps and finished 18th in his debut at Richmond last fall. He will look to better that this time around.
