Kaulig Racing Adds Landon Cassill To Xfinity Series Roster

With Kaulig Racing already signing two drivers to their three car stable for 2022, many questions remained surrounding the No. 10 entry that was the former ride of Jeb Burton.

The entry is one of the major pieces fo the 2022 Xfinity Series silly season puzzle, having a win and a playoff spot last season with Burton thanks to a Talladega win.

The AP’s Jenna Fryer reported the long-rumored move on Thursday that Landon Cassill and sponsor Voyager will join the organization starting in 2022, completing the lineup of AJ Allmendinger in the No. 16 entry, and 2021 Xfinity Series champion Daniel Hemric in the flagship No. 11 Camaro.

“Continuing my partnership with Voyager Digital and Kaulig Racing is an incredible opportunity for me,” Cassill said. “I have a world-class partner in Voyager and the best support team in the business with Kaulig Racing. I am excited to not only have a shot at winning races, but to bring awareness to crypto and help educate people in a space that I’ve been personally invested in for a number of years.”

Voyager is investing deeply in Cassill, and the feeling is mutual as Driver No. 10 will once again accept his entire deal with Voyager in cryptocurrency. Cassill became the first driver to have an entire salary in cryptocurrency in NASCAR last season with Voyager. Currencies for Cassill include Bitcoin, the Voyager Token, USD Coin, StormX, and Avalanche.

“We are really excited to bring Landon Cassill onboard for the 2022 season,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “Landon has competed in NASCAR’s top series for many years and has brought with him a pivotal partner in Voyager Digital. We are looking forward to this partnership with Voyager and think Landon will be a great asset to our Kaulig Racing family.”

According to Fryer, crypto cashback platform StormX will be featured on the No. 10 Camaro for several races in 2022.

The Iowa native has been a consistent name in NASCAR’s second series, returning to full-time competition in 2021 with JD Motorsports and the No. 4 entry. His season received an impressive bolster when Voyager hopped on to take on most of the Xfinity Series schedule mid-season.

Cassill also made two Cup starts for Gaunt Brothers Racing in the No. 96 entry at Daytona and Talladega, with a best at the latter track of 24th.

It was just last week that Voyager confirmed an extension of its sponsorship deal with Cassill per SBJ’s Adam Stern, sending the NASCAR social media sector into a frenzy wondering where Cassill would land.

Cassill will make his 2022 debut with Kaulig Racing in Daytona on Saturday, February 19th, at 5:00 PM EST.
