Not the start to the weekend that three teams in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series were looking for. Johnny Sauter’s No. 13 team, Derek Kraus’ No. 19 team and Ben Rhodes’ No. 99 team were busted with L1 penalties in pre-race inspection on Saturday at Kentucky Speedway.

All three trucks were found to have violated section 20.4.12.2.b of the rule book, which has to do with the filler panels on the trucks.

All three drivers and teams will lose 10 championship driver and owner points and they will drop to the rear for the start of Saturday’s Buckle up in Your Truck 225.

Rhodes was scheduled to start sixth, Sauter 11th and Kraus 17th.

Ray Ciccarelli, who was set to start 36th, will drop to the rear as well for missing the rookie driver meeting and Trey Hutchens, who was to start shot gun on the field anyway, will move to the rear after unapproved adjustments on his truck.
