Post-race technical inspection following Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway has been completed.

Daniel Hemric’s race-winning No. 18 Poppy Bank Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra has passed. Pending findings from engine teardown, Hemric and his team will be declared the official winners of the race.

If the engine teardown yields no findings, Hemric, who was one of the four Championship 4 contenders, is the official 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion. This win marks the first of Hemric’s NASCAR Xfinity Series career, which spans 120 starts.

Justin Haley’s No. 11 car and John Hunter Nemechek’s No. 54 car had one unsecured lug  nut each, which will result in monetary fines for their crew chiefs.

No other issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Saturday’s race will be considered official following engine teardown.
