Wow. What a race Sunday’s iRacing eNASCAR Pro Invitational event at Homestead-Miami Speedway was!

Garrett Smithley, who started from the pole, and Timmy Hill had the cars to beat for the majority of the 100-lap race, but in the closing laps, it was Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin who put on a show.

Hamlin, who had fresher tires was able to get to the outside of Earnhardt on the final lap, and worked his way to the lead coming off the final turn. Hamlin and Earnhardt made contact, and Hamlin went on to win.

In winning, Hamlin will be sending $5,000 to COVID19-19 relief for families in the Homestead-Miami Speedway, a pledge that he offered earlier in the week. Kevin Harvick and FOX Sports will match Hamlin’s pledge to give a grand total of $15,000 to the cause.

Earnhardt would hold on to finish second.

Hill finished third, Chase Briscoe was fourth and Smithley rounded out a great race in fourth.

  1. Enjoyed watching this whole event. Jeff and Mike in the booth were having fun and seeing the drivers in their garages and such was a treat. Seeing JJ run with an Indy car steering wheel make me laugh, but it put his clutch right there at his fingertips. Denny Hamlin was running barefoot….what a hoot this was…..ready for more, I am, I am. Soon as I get the complete race results will post to my pool who finished where. Toby, I hope you and your family are doing well in this crisis. Please stay safe.
