Well, it didn’t take long for Jeremy Bullins to land another crew chief gig. Just days after RFK Racing announced an amicable parting of ways with the veteran crew chief, who had served as Brad Keselowski’s crew chief since 2025, Bullins’ next crew chief opportunity was announced.
Bullins will move from Ford Racing to Toyota Racing in 2027, as he’ll serve as the crew chief for Riley Herbst and the No. 84 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team.
As LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is set to continue Herbst’s driver development after a two-year stint at 23XI Racing, the organization saw the veteran Bullins as the perfect match for the 27-year-old driver.
“Jeremy Bullins’ experience and leadership are exactly what we need on the No. 84,” said Jimmie Johnson, co-owner of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB. “He has a proven record of success at every level of NASCAR, but what truly sets him apart is his ability to develop talent, build winning cultures, and embrace innovation. Pairing him with Riley creates a strong foundation for the No. 84 team to compete, evolve, and achieve long-term success.”
Bullins, who has a history over his 25-plus-year career in NASCAR of helping developmental drivers early in their careers, is elated to join the growing LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team next season to serve as the shot-caller for Herbst.
“I’m very excited to get the opportunity to work with everyone at LEGACY MOTOR CLUB with everything that is being built here,” said Jeremy Bullins, crew chief of the No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE. “There are a lot of positive things happening at the team. I was excited to meet Riley Herbst and see how passionate he is about racing, so I’m excited to give him some leadership to hopefully provide him a good opportunity in 2027.”
Herbst, who quietly built a solid 2026 campaign after a subpar rookie season in 2025, says he has reason to feel optimistic in 2027 with Bullins atop the pit box.
“Jeremy brings a level of experience and a track record that speaks for itself,” said Riley Herbst, driver of the No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE. “Having someone who has won races and built teams at the highest level of this sport alongside me gives me a lot of confidence heading into 2027. I’m looking forward to getting to work together and building something special with the No. 84 team.”
LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, which has served as a two-chartered organization in the NASCAR Cup Series since debuting as Petty GMS Motorsports in 2022, is expanding to three full-time chartered entries next season. Herbst will join Erik Jones, the driver of the No. 43 Toyota, and Josh Berry, the newly announced driver of the No. 42 Toyota, as a teammate next season.
