Video: William Byron Joins McDowell, Kyle Busch as Playoff Contenders Out of Southern 500, After Big Hit

William Byron is done for the night, one lap shy of completing 200 laps after he hat a cut left front tire, which sent him rocketing into the outside wall in the NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500.

Byron joins Kyle Busch and Michael McDowell as Playoff contenders who are already out of Sunday’s race.

In addition to Byron, Busch and McDowell, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell and Martin Truex Jr. have all found trouble. Luckily for Bowman, Elliott, Bell and Truex, they’re still in the running.
