Video: The Incident That Sent Bubba Wallace From a Top-10 to a 25th Place Finish on Final Lap of Daytona Road Course

UPDATE 4:00 PM ET August 17, 2020:

NASCAR has released their broadcast footage of the incident between Bubba Wallace, Alex Bowman and Joey Logano from the final lap of Sunday’s race. In this view, you can clearly see Logano make contact with Bowman, which sends the No. 88 into Wallace, sending Wallace around.

NBC Sports unfortunately did not show video evidence of what happened to knock Bubba Wallace from eighth-place to 25th on the final lap of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling 235 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course. However, fans were allowed in the stands for the race, and as a result, we now have at least a look at what transpired:

There is also some photographic evidence, as well:

While it’s hard to tell what happened fully, after the race, Bubba Wallace took exception to Joey Logano, who was two cars behind Wallace going into turn one on the final lap.

It appears that Logano potentially got into the turn with too much momentum and made contact with the rear of Alex Bowman’s No. 88 machine, which sent Bowman into Wallace, which, in turn, sent Wallace spinning from the top-10.

Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft summarized the incident in a tweet, but also said even with the disappointing finish that the No. 43 team is still having a great time.
