Cole Custer Takes Stage 1 Win in Xfinity Series Race at Chicago

Cole Custer’s break-out season has continued. The driver who has three NASCAR Xfinity Series race wins already this season, recorded his sixth Stage win of the year when he took the opening Stage of the Camping World 300 at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday.

Tyler Reddick, who started ninth worked his way to second, but stalled out and couldn’t catch Custer for the Stage win.

Christopher Bell was third, Brandon Jones ended up fourth and polesitter Joey Logano wound up fifth. Logano dodged a huge bullet when he picked up a windshield tear off that covered his entire front grille. Luckily for Logano it flew off as he pulled in behind another car.

Justin Allgaier rebounded from falling to 31st spot after he spun out about mid-way through the Stage to finish sixth in Stage 1.

Austin Cindric, Michael Annett, Chase Briscoe and Ross Chastain also scored Stage points in Stage 1.
