Coming into this week at Kentucky Speedway, the stigma revolving around Austin Cindric was his inability to win races on oval tracks. By the end of a double-header NASCAR Xfinity Series weekend, we now are left to wonder: Will he ever lose an oval race again?

Cindric led a race-high 130 laps on Friday night in the Alsco 300 to take his second win of the 2020 NXS season and his second-career win on an oval.

Chase Briscoe, who has five wins in 2020, finished runner-up, 2.3 seconds behind Cindric.

Kaulig Racing’s Justin Haley and Ross Chastain were third and fourth and JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier had an incredible rally after early race misfortunes to score a fifth-place finish.

On lap one, Allgaier had a broke rotor from Kyle Weatherman’s car slam into his windshield. A few laps later, he had a tire going down on his No. 7 and lost a lap getting it changed.

He rebounded and dodged a lot of chaos over the last few laps for a great finish one night after going to the hospital due to an elevated heart rate.

Anthony Alfredo finished sixth and capped off a successful weekend, while Noah Gragson, Michael Annett, Daniel Hemric and Riley Herbst rounded out the top-10 finishers.

Following the race, Gragson, who slid into Harrison Burton on the final restart causing Burton to skid out of a potential top-five run to finish 12th, was involved in a scuffle — the first since social distancing guidelines were put in place — with Burton. Both driver’s teams were also involved in the tussle.
