After taking on the mile in Milwaukee, and a dominant showing by one of the series’ top rookies, the ARCA Menards Series is heading to the fair for some funnel cake, Ferris wheels, and to play in some dirt at the DuQuion State Fair at the one-mile dirt oval.

The ARCA Menards Series first traveled to the DuQioin Fairgrounds in 1957, where Jerry Unser took home the checkered flag. The track would then leave the schedule, only to return to the calendar in 1983.

Former winners at the fair include Fred Lorenzen, Dean Roper, Bob Keselowski, Bob Schact, Frank Kimmel, Tony Stewart, Chris Buescher, Landen Lewis, and last year’s winner Ryan Unzicker.

Slingin’ Mud For The Weekend

Looking forward to this weekend’s duel in the dirt, one driver has the chance to go home with a huge payday.

After winning his first career ARCA Menards Series in just his second start at the similar-length dirt track in Springfield, Illinois, Brent Crews and the No. 25 Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsports are looking to claim some cash.

Should the 15-year-old driver take home the victory, he’ll also be the recipient of $34,000, as part of the Performance Seed Dirt Double – which offers a $20,000 bonus to any driver who can win both of ARCA’s annual dirt races.

Joining him from the stables of Venturini Motorsports are Jesse Love and rookie Sean Higorani. Love, the ARCA points leader, is looking for revenge, after losing to Crews at Springfield by 20-plus seconds. On the other hand, Hingorani is making his first-ever start on the dirt in ARCA.

Looking to continue his string of strong performances, bolstered by a victory at The Milwaukee Mile, ARCA Menards Series East points leader William Sawalich is also looking to spoil Crews’ fun. The Eden Prarie, Minnesota native finished fifth in his ARCA dirt debut a few weeks ago.

Veteran dirt racer Kelly Kovski is among the dirt track ringers looking to make a splash in the ARCA Menards Series. Meanwhile, drivers like Will Kimmel and Clayton Weatherman will make their first starts of the year in the series.

The field will also include fan-favorite drivers Frankie Muniz and Brayton Laster, among several other series regulars including Christian Rose, Jon Garrett, Brad Smith, and AJ Moyer.
