Chandler Smith Handed Five Lap Penalty for Intentionally Stopping on Track, After Suspension Issues

Sioux Chief Showdown Points Leader Chandler Smith’s night has gone from bad to worse in Friay Night’s 200 at Toledo Speedway.

Smith – who stopped on the backstraightaway with 43 laps to go — will be assesed an additional five lap penalty, for intentionally causing a caution flag.

The 18-year old would be unable to return to the race, as a suspension issue sidelined the No. 20 for the remainder of the event.

Smith would be relegated to an eleventh-place finish, only his second finish outside the top-ten in 25 ARCA Menards Series starts.
