Sam Mayer was able to hold off a hard charging Ty Gibbs to claim his first ARCA Menards Series victory in the Menards.com 200 at Toledo Speedway.

Mayer’s two-year ARCA career has been impressive, scoring six victories in ARCA’s regional series, including the 2019 K&N Pro Series East Championship.

Chevrolet’s back-to-back victories at Kansas Speedway and Toledo Speedway, is the first time that Chevrolet has won back-to-back races in the ARCA Menards Series since Austin Theriault and Chad Finley won the first two events of the 2017 season.

Ty Gibbs earned his tenth career top-two finish in the ARCA Menards Series with a runner-up finish for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Taylor Gray – the 15-year-old driver for DGR-Crosley Racing — earned a career-best third-place finish, driving the No. 17 Ford Fusion.

The top-two drivers in points, Bret Holmes and Michael Self rounded out the top-five finishers in Friday’s 200-lap event.

Chandler Smith – who was penalized five laps for intentionally stopping on the track — finished in 11th-place, just the second finish outside the top-ten in 25 ARCA Menards Series starts.

The ARCA Menards Series will return to the track Saturday Afternoon at Toledo Speedway for the second leg of the doubleheader weekend in Ohio.
