AM Racing, which has fielded the No. 22 entry full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series ranks since the 2016 season and has fielded a part-time entry in the ARCA Menards Series, will expand their operations to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the 2023 season.

The organization made the announcement in the form of a press release on Friday.

AM Racing will also remain a fixture in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series next year and will also compete in the ARCA Menards Series.

The team expects the growth of its NASCAR racing footprint to help them move forward as an organization.

“AM Racing is proud and excited about our next chapter,” said team president Wade Moore. “Adding the NASCAR Xfinity Series to our program is going to allow us to further grow and become a team where we are focused on showcasing drivers, marketing partners, and personnel for years to come.

“We have been slowly preparing for this transition this year and will continue to add the necessary assets over the coming months to make sure we have a smooth but also competitive transition as we continue to climb the ladder.”

While the team’s 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series driver lineup, sponsorship partners, drivers, crew chiefs, and car numbers were not disclosed in the release, the team states that Austin Wayne Self will remain a key cog in the business side of things for his family-owned race team moving forward.

“Austin Wayne Self will always be an integral member of our team,” added Moore. “He is going to do a great job helping us launch the Xfinity Series program while being an asset to our other projects too.

“Austin wants to see his family-owned team grow. With that transition, he will also be expanding his responsibilities on the business forefront to make sure AM Racing is around for a long time.”

AM Racing has made a total of 121 starts in NASCAR Truck Series competition, and they have recorded two top-five finishes and 17 top-10s.

In 2021, the team added a part-time No. 37 entry to go along with their flagship No. 22 entry. After competing in one event in 2021, the No. 37 truck has made two starts this year.
