After More Than Five Weeks Off, ARCA Teams Return to Action Next Week

After over five weeks of no racing, the teams of the ARCA Menards Series will return to action on one of the biggest tracks on the schedule. Talladega Superspeedway is the host of the next race on the 23rd of April, a 76-lapper that always has a lot of eyes on it when the event makes its yearly appearance.

But with this many weeks off in the beginning of the season, what have drivers been doing to keep themselves busy?

Current points leader Daniel Dye hopped back in the late model recently at Five Flags Speedway for two nights of racing. Fifth and seventh were his results, a familiar sight as he has started the ARCA season just as strong and consistent. As well as a clean car, nonetheless.

Just behind Dye in the standings is Rev Racing driver Rajah Caruth, who marked off a career bucket list item just a few weeks ago at Richmond Raceway. The Alpha Prime Racing prospect made his long-awaited NASCAR Xfinity Series debut for the program in the No. 44, qualifying his way into the show and scoring a 24th place finish.

Venturini Motorsports driver Parker Chase also made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut recently, driving the No. 26 Toyota for Sam Hunt Racing at Circuit of the Americas. Turning right and left is something the Texan has had some fun with over the years, with that experience helping him to an impressive 19th place finish in the race. Parker sits 3rd in the ARCA standings, just 18 markers back of the lead.

He may not be a full-time ARCA driver anymore, but it sure was Heim Time in Atlanta last month, with Corey Heim scoring his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory on the newly configured super-speedway.

Superspeedways have been very kind to Heim in the ARCA Menards Series, as he has scored multiple wins at both Daytona and Talladega over the years. That leads us to the question, will we see a new face in victory lane in a weeks time?

The drivers and teams have taken some much needed time off, but it is back to race week in just a few days.

The General Tire 200 from Talladega will take place April 23rd, at 1:00pm E.T. on FS1. An official entry list for the event is expected to be released soon.
