Benjamin Pedersen led a straightforward opening practice for Indy Lights on the Streets of Nashville.

The 22-year-old Danish American navigated the 11-turn, 2.1-mile temporary street circuit with a flying lap at 1m21.8473s (92.367 mph) in the No. 24 Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports machine.

Danile Frost, piloting the No. 68 entry for HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing, ended up a distant second at 0.4143s behind Pedersen.

Hunter McElrea put his No. 27 Andretti Autosport entry in third.

Championship leader Linus Lundqvist came away fourth, ahead of Matthew Brabham.

Sting Ray Robb, Christian Rasmussen, James Roe, Jacob Abel and Christian Bogle rounded out the rest of the top 10.

There were no yellow flags or stoppages in the session.
