Rackley WAR will make a driver change, away from Matt DiBenedetto, for its No. 25 entry for the final three races in the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

On Tuesday afternoon, Rackley WAR announced that it will be making an official driver change for its No. 25 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry, which will take effect for the final three races of the 2023 season.

The statement from the team says, “Rackley W.A.R. has reached a decision to make a driver change for its No. 25 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) entry for the remaining three (3) events of the 2023 race season, including Talladega Superspeedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway.

“The team, in its third year as a full-time NCTS team, sponsored by Rackley Roofing Co, Inc. and W.A.R. Shocks, will release further details of the transaction once they are finalized.”

Matt DiBenedetto had served as the team’s full-time driver of the No. 25 entry to this point in the season. DiBenedetto made it into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs, but was bounced in the opening round.

Prior to the start of the Playoffs, DiBenedetto announced that he would be taking a gamble on himself and would be leaving Rackley WAR at season’s end to pursue other opportunities. Following the team’s announcement on Tuesday, DiBenedetto shared a statement to his account on X.

“No words can express the disappointment I’m feeling right now and also not being able to finish the season out,” DiBenedetto posted. “I really want to thank my fans for always being there for me, it means the world to me and I’ll always be there for you. Thank you NASCAR and Craftsman for such an awesome series that I love competing in with all my heart! Working on 2024 and will update you all soon!”

DiBenedetto, 32, scored his first-career NASCAR National Series victory with Rackley WAR at Talladega Superspeedway last fall. This season, DiBendetto has recorded two top-five finishes, and 12 top-10s in 20 starts with the No. 25 team.

With DiBenedetto eliminated from the Playoffs, Rackley WAR appears to be getting an early start on preparing for the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.

The team did not announce which driver will fill the seat of the No. 25 entry for the remainder of the season. That announcement will be forthcoming in the near future.
