After over a month since the season opener, the ARCA Menards East Series returns to action this weekend at Dover Motor Speedway. The concrete racetrack in Dover, Delaware hosts the General Tire 125.

History

Breaking down the series’ history at the track, the ARCA East Series has been traveling to the Monster Mile since 2020, with the former K&N East Series visiting the track since 1987. Former winners include Ken Schrader, Michael Waltrip, Dale Quarterley, Aric Almirola, Harrison Burton, Sam Mayer, and Ty Gibbs,

Last year’s winner was Taylor Gray driving a Ford Mustang for David Gilliland Racing. Gray just made his superspeedway debut last weekend at Talladega driving for Joe Gibbs Racing in the ARCA Menards Series.

Looking ahead

Looking at the 2023 ARCA East Season so far, rookie William Sawalich holds the points lead after taking the win at Five Flags Speedway. Sitting just seven points back is fellow rookie Luke Fenhaus. The Wausau, WI native has one start under his belt in his ARCA career, but he hopes to continue the momentum after finishing second.

Jake Finch, Sean Hingorani who just won back-to-back races in the West Series at Irwindale and Kern County, and Lavar Scott round out the top five in points.

Finch, the Lynn Haven, Fl native, continues his ARCA East campaign behind the wheel of the No. 20 for Venturini Motorspors. He and Hingorani will be joined by Conner Jones in the No. 25, and Toni Breidinger in the No. 55 for the VMS camp.

C.J. McLaughlin will be making his ARCA East debut at the Monster Mile. He will be driving for Fast Track Racing in the no. 12 SciAps Toyota. McLaughlin has made three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts this season and has three career ARCA starts from 2018 to 2019.

After coming home second at Kern County, Landen Lewis heads east to try his luck at Dover, marking his first career ARCA East start. The 17-year-old currently leads the ARCA West standings.

The General Tire 125 at Dover Motor Speedway is Friday, April 28. The green flag flies at 5:30 PM ET. You can watch the race live on FloRacing.
