Video: Hailie Deegan’s Top-Five Run in ARCA Race at Kentucky Ends in the Wall

Hailie Deegan has had a great start to her ARCA Menards Series rookie season in 2020, as she came into Saturday’s event at Kentucky Speedway having finished inside the top-seven in all five races contested so far including two top-three efforts.

It looked like Deegan was well on her way to another great run on Saturday, as she was solidly in fourth sniffing the draft of the top-three with just 24 laps remaining.

However, that’s when disaster struck. Coming off of turn two, Deegan and Drew Dollar made contact, which sent her No 4 DGR Crosley Ford Fusion hard into the wall. In an instant, her great run was over and her day was done.

After climbing from the car, a disappointed Deegan said that she was flat out hooked.

Deegan came into the race 12 points behind Michael Self for the Series points lead. Her quest for a championship will take a hit after Saturday’s crash.
